Ryan Dings

Ryan serves as the first U.S. CEO of InnoEnergy, one of Europe’s leading clean technology investors. Established in 2010 with the support of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology, InnoEnergy is designed to identify, support, and scale the most promising innovations in clean energy technologies, ensuring they make a significant impact on the market. InnoEnergy’s portfolio of over 200 companies is estimated to generate $118.5 (€110) billion in revenue and have raised more than $26.9 (€25) billion in investment to date. Its expansion to the U.S. aims to accelerate the growth of this impressive portfolio.

Ryan’s clean technology focus extends to the nonprofit sector, where he serves as a board member of the Mystic River Watershed Association, a Boston-based organization that works to build climate resiliency in the communities along the Mystic River, and the Connecticut Wind Collaborative, which aims to advance a thriving offshore wind industry in Connecticut.

Prior to joining InnoEnergy, Ryan worked to strengthen the climate tech ecosystem in Connecticut. He served as the founding chief executive officer of ClimateHaven, the Yale-backed climate technology incubator in New Haven, CT, and a venture partner in Connecticut Innovations’ $100M ClimateTech Fund, which is designed to invest capital and strategic support in early-stage companies whose technologies will address the many challenges presented by climate change. Ryan remains on the ClimateHaven Board of Directors and an advisor to ClimateHaven startups.

Prior to these roles, Ryan served as the Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel of Greentown Labs, North America's largest climate tech incubator with locations in Somerville, MA and Houston, TX. Prior to joining Greentown Labs, Ryan served as the Chief Operating Officer & General Counsel of Sunwealth, where he helped launch the Solar Impact Fund, which invested in the development and long-term ownership of commercial solar projects throughout the United States. Ryan also served on the executive team of venture-backed prefab home builder Blu Homes and has advised numerous early-stage clean tech and building tech companies over the past 15 years. Before launching into clean technology, Ryan started his career practicing commercial real estate law in Charlotte, North Carolina. Ryan holds graduate degrees in law from Wake Forest University School of Law and in design from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and a Bachelor of Arts from UNC-Chapel Hill.
